GNOME desktop. GNOME 3.0.
Xournal – “…this is really useful tool to help with the mundane task of “editing” a PDF…”
NetworkManager – “…With the amount of devices around you that are wifi-capable, this ability of a Fedora machine to be able to become a wifi-hotspot is extremely useful. Yes, you can do tethering with cell phones (atleast the Android 2.2 phones), but this being a standard capability of a Fedora box needs to be publicised…”
Virtual Machine Manager – “…What demo is complete if youdo not show virtualization? And the fact that virtualization is built-in in Fedora means that you can now go about experimenting, using, breaking, fixing, updating various other systems. This alone changes how we consume technology and how we can easily transition to the cloud…”
Weather in Tokyo is a factor for any event. This spring outdoor event was nice in the beginning of the day but would be very cool in the evening and are not very easy to maintain personnel energy and power accordingly as well as attendees who go indoors for lunch and cool rooms.

Fedora 14 and System Administration

Now, I am moving forward with Fedora 14 in my mind, I am trying to further integrate more useful system administration tools.

Using embedded code have updates automatically done for running systems status of my current running systems at https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Dramsey#Current_running_systems

Lastly, I did a kernel update to 2.6.35-0.31.rc4.git4.fc14.i686.PAE on my Fedora 14 Virtual Machine on July 12, 2010 and the system set runs very well.

For additional reinforcing system administration data, I am reviewing the “Fedora And Red Hat System Administration” Wikibooks at http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Fedora_And_Red_Hat_System_Administration

Cryptography in the kernel, “What a way cool idea!!!”

Using the /dev/crypto (aka CryptoDev) device as the cryptographic interface, sweet!!!

“…Targeted release: Fedora 14…” Also, the kernel implementation of cryptographic algorithms will be made available to user-space programs, so that user-space programs do not need to handle encryption keys directly. I want to see this!
